The Times-Union Center for Performing Arts (TUCPA) is committed to meeting or exceeding all structural and service requirements as stipulated by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Listed below are tips for access and egress, as well as assistance during your visit with us.
Accessible Seating/Tickets
Wheelchair accessible seats are available in all price levels. One companion ticket may be purchased with each wheelchair accessible ticket. Please indicate when buying tickets if you require accessible seating. You may purchase handicapped-accessible seating in person at the Box Office during normal business hours or by calling Ticketmaster at 1 (800) 745-3000.
Accessible Drop-off
Guests may drive into the front circular driveway on Water Street to allow passengers to unload before parking. While the vehicle is being parked, the guest may wait at the Security desk in the right side of the lobby for their party.
Should a patron not have their own chair, TUCPA Security will provide one and escort the patron via elevator to their seat. At such time, the chair must be returned by an usher to the Security desk. At the close of the event, someone in your party may return to Security to request a chair for patron transport.
Accessible Parking
A limited number of accessible parking spaces are available in the parking lot immediately west of the building. Entrance to the lot is available via Pearl Street. Additional metered accessible spaces are available on Hogan Street and Pearl Street. Valet parking is available for a fee at the Omni Hotel directly across from the Times-Union Center entrance.
Service Animals
Trained service animals are permitted to assist guests inside the Center. If special accommodations are required for your service animal, please notify us at the time of ticket purchase. All other animals are prohibited.
Hearing Assist System/ASL Interpretation
Assistive listening devices are available upon request at the TUCPA Security desk located to the right of the main entrance. Please return the device at the end of the event. Interpreters are available upon request with two weeks notice. To request an interpreter, please contact the Times-Union Center at 904-633-6110 x4.
Elevator
The elevator to access the main lobby and the second floor is located to the right of the Main Entrance, past the TUCPA Security desk.
Restrooms
All restrooms in the Center are ADA accessible.
Telephones
Accessible telephones are available in TUCPA Security. TDD machines and volume-enhanced phones are also available.
Medical Assistance
Emergency medical personnel are on-site at most events. Please contact an usher if you need medical assistance.
Emergency Evacuation
Staff members have been trained in emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures. Key employees are assigned to assist patrons with disabilities to safety.
